Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Raceweek 2012 will finally kick off in Thailand tomorrow evening in style, as Mount Gay Rum is slated to host the opening celebration – to be followed by the start of racing Thursday morning in what is forecast to be perfect ‘champagne sailing’ conditions.
Approaching its ninth year, Phuket Raceweek consists of four days of world-class yacht racing and four nights of beachside partying. With seven classes (including multihulls), the regatta has gained quite a reputation for competitive racing and is dubbed “Thailand’s Most Exciting Regatta.”
This year, participants are coming from all corners of the globe, including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Laos, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, England, Netherlands, Germany and the U.S.
