The size of cruising casts from the gig-three catamaran builders has been going up for a decade, but recently all three –Fontiane Pajot, Leopard and Lagoon/Excess have introduced models in the 40-foot range. Fountaine Pajot’s new 41 footer falls int that category and could be considered their new entry level cat.
But it is any but elementary. The builder and designers have managed to fit all the accommodations and and acountraments of the large cats into this tiidy and atractive package.
The cockpit is vast with seats for as many as 10 people when it is party time. The helm is raised in the cockpit hard top for good visibility and sail handling. Al lines and sheets lead to the helm so the 41 can be singlehanded. A large sun bed lies atop the cockpit hard top as well as the solar panel array.
The saloon is compact ut the dinette will seat six for dinner and the galley is aft so it can serve either the inside dinete of the outside table for al fresco dining.
The standard layout shows two cabins and heads in the starboard hull and theowners suite in th eport hull. These are large enough for a family of four or a party of thre couples to live aboard for extened periods.
Always a trend steer, the new Fountain Pajot 41 will make a capable cruiser worthy of long range addventures. Read more here.
